If you won a million dollars and you were told that you can only use it for traveling money and traveling expenses where would you go and why? Or would you tell the person keep it, you don't want it?

I would plan an immediate trip around the world and go to some places that I have always wanted to viisti like Russia, China, Greece, Italy and Austrailia and New Zealand. I would travel North America from top to bottom. I can't fly so I know my limits. The rest of the world I view through the eyes of the internet. Sure I'd take the money if I won it. I would want to go to Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea! Those are the three main places that I want to visit before I die. Japan has the best shops around (especially in Harajuku and Shibuya!). Then there's South Korea with their trendy clothing lines and cute little blouses. Taiwan has the beautiful small shops around on the streets with wonderful delicacies of every kind! Of course, I would only go if I could bring someone along with me since I don't want to feel so alone and bored. Haha. [cherriholicxx]

I would travel around the US first. My husband and I have alway wanted to go to Alaska so that is a must. I am not sure where all I would go. If I want my husband to go with it better be somewhere we can drive. Boats sink and planes crash so it is terra firma for him. [Ruthep]

Okay, I can use the money only for travelling expenses... Would that include the purchase of a Tuscan Villa? hehehe I would start in Italy and work my way all around Europe, and I'd be gone for about a solid year. I assume that I do not have to go alone. I would grab my son and do what we talked about doing when he was little...skiing the swiss alps. I would also like to go to Australia. My husband and I would love a nice Alaskan cruise plus an exploration of Alaska would be neat, like Danali park. I also would love to go to the Hudson bay area -- and spend some time - see the whales, see the Northern Lights. Antarctica has a really neat trip too that i have heard about. What about space travel..can that be included? That would be included on my list of travel things to do. Of course a few cruises, maybe one around the world with stop offs at many places...I would love to see Japan, Finland, Sweden, Ok more of europe then I have scene. tell the person to keep it? why would i do that? i love to travel and that is like my biggest goal in life. i work hard and save money all year long just so that i can go travelling at least once a year. if i were to get a million dollars travelling money, i'll probably jump so high i'd hit the roof. there are just so many places i want to go. i'd love to stay in europe for a year. just staying in each country for at least a month to learn about their culture. one quirk i have about travelling. i will try all the public transportation used in that country. so i'll probably get a kayak and paddle all over venice, take the tube in london, the metro in paris and of course the rail all through europe. Wow, if only it were to really happen. If I won a million dollars, I would first head to Egypt and spend at least 3 months there, exploring the history of the place. I would then head to Africa, and volunteer for 3 - 6 months. After that I'd head to South America, again exploring the hisotry of the area. My next stop would be New Orleans. I'd go on a round tour: I would take a plane to London, then travel by train through Europe after spending time in france, spain and the like, make my way towards Italy, take a plane from there, head towards asia and plane hop from china to japan, then go to austrailia and new zeland, spend some time in bali, Make stops in egypt and nigeria, fly to brazil and argentina and then for the last leg head to hawaii because I miss maui. I would do that because I've always wanted to travel the world. Between hanging in local cafe's, on beaches, going to carnival, seeing historical and natural landmarks, I'd try to do everything I possibly could. That's just me. [krysande]
Greece, Australia, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Britain, Singapore, China, Russia, I could go on and on.... My husband and I love to travel and we take our kids wherever we go....We try to take at least one trip per year - whether it be another State (we are based in North Texas), another country, or even just another city. Last year, we went to Houston, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Las Vegas, NV (to visit my inlaws); Los Angeles, CA (to visit my brother and settle some affairs there as we used to live there) and to Mazatlan in Mexico....This year we went to Chicago, IL which we already visited 5 years ago, but have gone to visit again. I don't mind revisiting some places that we've already been, but I want to see new places, too! We've gone to France, but I don't mind going back to revisit since there were some cities/areas we didn't get to see while we were there like the cities of Marseilles and Versailles, etc. We went to Madrid in Spain, but would like to go back to Spain and maybe see Barcelona this time. I'd like to see so many other places in Mexico, too - Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa are 2 of the places I'd like to visit there...I'd like to see Cancun, too and Mexico City. I used to live in the Philippines and would love to go back to visit as there are lots of great beaches and resorts over there that I'd like to see, too. I've been to Cebu and Leyte, Zamboanga and Jolo, Bacolod, Quezon, and so many other provinces there, but would like to see more, definitely as they've developed so many new places in recent years. When visiting a place, I enjoy the sights and the food....To me and my husband, it's usually a gastronomical adventure of sorts when we travel. We don't really shop too much - maybe just a few things, like shoes in Spain, a leather coat in France, just token items...we do buy food from local grocery stores and eat at the places that locals enjoy...I try to get a couple of small souvenirs, too. I would take a year long World cruise because I Love to travel and I think that I could probably see more places on a year long World cruise! That, plus the fact that I would not always have to be packing and trying to get to airports, buses, trains etc. most of the time. I would like to spend more time enjoying the places than trying to go through the nightmare of getting there! I would travel all over of course even I have seen a lot of Europe and America as I am an American that now makes my home in Holland but to me anywhere that the ocean and waterways takes me would be just fine. If I was to be given a million dollars in travel money, I would see "Small Town, USA". I would just travel in a comfortable vehicle, go off the freeway and see the small towns. One of the most pleasurable stops I ever made was in such a place. Me and my two boys, who were quite young and are half black and half white, had to stop at a very tiny place in the north. I was very apprehensive about how they would treat us. We got gas and stopped by a small cafe. Everyone in the diner loved my kids and we ended up having free deserts. We then went to the grocery store for snacks for on the road and they were just as friendly as the folks in the diner. It was fun and it allowed me to have faith in people again. [jedijo]
I would take it =) I'd start planning an itinerary which would include visiting a lot of friends and family. That means we'd probably go to WA, FL, WI, IL, MN, VT, just to name a few. I'd also love to visit Hawaii, Ireland, England - for no other reason than to enjoy the sights. Oh...I would love to go back to Canada too =) I am sure that it would not take long to spend it as travel, accomodations and the like are getting expensive, and it is also much more expensive to fly 3 people vs 1. I would be delighted to receive one million dollars to use to travel to all the places on my travel wish list. I would still stay in locally guest houses and whilst I would travel in business class on the airlines in the different regions I would travel on trains and buses. I would fly to South America, going first to explore the historical city of Cartagena in Colombia and I would hop over to San Andres Island to spend time on the palm fringed beaches. I would cruise around the Galapagos Islands, watching the wildlife. In Peru I would climb the Inca Trail up to see Machu Picchu. I love to see historical places and see spectacular views. In Chile I would see magical looking Easter Island and the pretty lake district. In Argentina I think I would love to see the natural spectacle of the waterfall on the border with Brazil. I would adore the beauty of Sugar Loaf Mountain in Brazil. I would see Cape Town and climb amazing looking Table Mountain. I know that the sight of Victoria Falls would delight me. It would be fantastic to see wildlife in Madagascar. I would adore the palm fringed beaches of Mauritius. Next I would fly to Egypt to see the Pyramids then over to see the Taj Mahal in India. I would do some island hopping and snorkeling in Thailand and the Philippines. From China I would take the train all the way home via Moscow in Russia. Train is my favorite form of transportation. On another trip I would fly to Halifax and travel by train across Canada to Vancouver. I would go island hopping and see every island in the Caribbean.
